Is this true? Do museums have an obligation to provide historical background? If this is the obligation of the museum, what is the obligation of visitor? Can art be appreciated purely for the aesthetic? With enough information for the visitor to do their own research, do we need to inundate people with facts?

165 years ago,  Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula, was born outside of Dublin.

Dracula, a chilling masterpiece of Gothic horror, was first published in 1897 and has never been out of print since.

Although it was not the first story about a vampire, it became the most well-known and has since had a huge impact on popular culture as respectful interpretation as well as imitation and parody.
